John R. Rader

John Russell Rader, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, IA. He was born on September 3, 1929, in LaCrosse, the son of Russell and Helen (Wing) Rader. John graduated from Central High School in 1947. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country in the occupation of Japan until his honorable discharge. After his honorable discharge, John attended LaCrosse Technical College to become a Draftsman. He was employed at Trane Air Conditioning in LaCrosse. On June 28, 1952, John was united in marriage to Jacqueline V. Thiele in LaCrosse. After their marriage, the couple moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, where he was employed with Rockwell Collins Radio until his retirement. John and Jackie moved to Lancaster in 2002. He was a member of the Lancaster Congregational Church. John enjoyed planes, automobiles, and trains. He loved books, music and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie, Lancaster; their children: Michael (Cindy) Rader, Nisswa, MN; Mary (Issa) Handal, Lancaster; three grandchildren: Derek (Kaitlyn) Rader, Iowa City, IA; Daren (Emily) Rader, Breezy Point, MN; Hannah Handal, Madison; one sister, Jane (George) Ruediger, Green Bay; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Mark Russell Rader and a granddaughter, Heidi Margret Handal.

Memorial services were held on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Private family burial with military honors will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Sally Radsek

Sally A. Radsek,age 83, ofPotosi, WI, was welcomed into her heavenly home on April 1, 2017. With family at her side, she passed peacefully in her sleep at her son's home in West Bend, WI.

Sally was born inPotosi, WI onMarch 9, 1934; the daughter of Floyd and Dorcas (Fritz) Retallick. She graduated fromPotosi High School in 1952. Sally was united in marriage toRichard "Dick" RadsekonJuly 18, 1952. Sally was a member of Faith, Lutheran Church in Lancaster, WI and a member of the Ladies Aid. Sally enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, participating in the Grant County Fair, volunteering at the Potosi Historical Society, as well as serving as an EMT for Potosi Rescue Squad. Sally also loved writing stories of her younger life and sharing them with family.

Sally is survived byher children; James (Marla) Radsek of Trevor, WI, Judith (Mark) Johnson of Oswego, IL, Joseph (Dawn) Radsek of West Bend, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws Carol (Ken) Trehey, Patricia (Edward) Meyer, and 1 brother-in-law Jerry (Jan) Radsek as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sally is preceded in death byher husband of 44 years, Richard Radsek, her parents Floyd and Dorcas (Fritz) Retallick, her sister and brother-in-law Jane and Henry Flessner, her in-laws Adolph and Lucille Radsek, 1 sister-in-law Lois Radsek and 1 granddaughter Kyra Radsek, and other extended family.

The funeral service was held at10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, atFaith Lutheran Church, Lancaster, with Pastor Joel Voss officiating. Burial followed atVan Buren Cemetery, Potosi. Visitation was held atMartin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison St, Lancaster, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, and at Faith Lutheran from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday, April 7, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, Institutional Ministries, or Potosi Fire & Rescue.

The family ofSally wishes to thank Horizon Hospice for their excellent care especially her nurse Tammy, Michelle her CNA, and Lindsey her SW. They would also like to thank all the friends and neighbors from the Potosi area that helped assist Sally with rides to church, doctors appointments, shopping and generally checking in on her these past few years.

Kathryn A. Ragatz

Kathryn Ann Garner Ragatz, age 63, of Beetown, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 10, 1947, the soul child of John Toay and Ann (Forck) Garner.

Kathryn attended Beetown elementary school and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. She studied Nursing in Chicago and later graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Winona State University. Kathryn taught at Winskill Elementary School in Lancaster and later pursued a banking career at Woodhouse and Bartley Bank in Bloomington, WI, retiring in 2005.

Kathryn was very passionate and instrumental in the success of the Wisconsin High School Rodeo Association, and served as the executive secretary for over 30 years. She dedicated countless hours to the youth of Wisconsin, teaching them about life in and out of the rodeo arena. She was a member of the Lancaster Congregational Church and West Grant Saddle Club.

When Kathy wasnt outside with her horses on the family farm, you would find her cooking for her family and any potential guest that might be dropping by the farm for dinner. Taught by her mother, Kathryn was an extraordinary cook. Canning, cooking, baking and gardening were among her favorite pastimes.

She is survived by her children: Bradley John BJ (Misty) Ragatz, Beetown; Sara (Jacob) Burks, Lancaster; Jon (Alison) Ragatz, Beetown; her former husband, Ted (Marsia) Ragatz, Lancaster; her grandchildren: Brittney Stein, Bridee Burks, Brenna Ragatz, Lainee Burks, Toay Ragatz and Ronnie Ragatz.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Kay Garner.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in the Charlotte Cemetery, Glen Haven Township. Family and friends called on Sunday, October 3, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Martha Ragatz

Martha E. Ragatz, age 97, passed away peacefully onSunday, December 20, 2015, atOrchard Manorin Lancaster, WI, following a brief illness. Shewas born on March 14, 1918,in Potosi, WIthe daughter ofHenry and Emma (Dressler) Reynolds.

Marthagrew up inPotosi and graduated from Potosi High School in 1935. After high school, she went to work at Walsh's General Merchandise Store in Potosi, and worked there until they moved their store to Muscoda in 1942. She stayed on with Walsh's in Muscoda until October, 1942, when she returned to Potosi and was employed at Potosi State Bank. Marthamarried Charles J. Ragatz, Jr. on April 8, 1947, in Potosi. She worked at the bank until 1963, when Martha and Charles founded Dubuque Holiday Sales, a wholesale beer distributorship in Dubuque, IA. Charles ran the day-to-day operations and Martha kept the books until they retired and sold the business in 1982. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church parish in Potosi. In her younger years, she loved dancing, and there was a dance ''almost every night.'' Martha enjoyed sewing her entire life, and made most of her own clothes. She was also an avid card player, ready to deal a hand any time there was a friend willing to play. Martha had a long, fun, and happy life filled with many good friends and a loving family.

Martha is survived byher three children: Mary Detra, Sun Prairie, WI; Ronald (Christine) Ragatz, Middleton, WI; Gary (Ida) Ragatz, East Lansing, MI; six grandchildren: Nathaniel Detra, Madison, WI; Sr. Airman Andrew Detra (Martha Seroogy), Honolulu, HI; Adam (Lindsey) Ragatz, Morrison, CO; Lisa Ragatz, Duluth, MN; Justin Ragatz, Middleton, WI; William (Claire) Cantrell, Williamston, MI; two great-grandchildren: William Cantrell and Lily Cantrell; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Charles, who passed away in 1999 after 52 years of marriage, Martha was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Reynolds; sisters: Mary "Mae" (Alphonse) Patzner, Hannah (Mahlon) Elskamp, and Florence (Donald) Flesch; brothers: Walter Reynolds and Clarence "Kerney" (Dorothy) Reynolds.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Potosi with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in the St. Thomas Cemetery. Family and friends called on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Potosi, where a 3:45 p.m. parish rosary was held. Friends also called on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Martha E. Ragatz memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Orchard Manor for the outstanding, compassionate care Martha received during her stay there.

Martha's family welcomes all to a luncheon held at Holiday Gardens immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.

Erlyn M. Raisbeck

Erlyn "Lynn" M. Raisbeck, age 91, of Bloomington, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on July 16, 1920, in Farmers Branch Texas, the daughter of Fred and Dovie (Padgett) Marsh. She attended high school in Dallas, Texas and then graduated from Baylor University. On January 4, 1944, Lynn was united in marriage to Francis Raisbeck in Glen Haven. After their marriage, Lynn was employed as a Lab Technician at the Lancaster hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bloomington and enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children two sons, Dick (Cheryl) Raisbeck of Mukwonago, and John (Kathy) Raisbeck, of Beloit; four grandchildren; Rich (Karla) Raisbeck, of Beloit, Shawna (Mark) Brandenburg, of Janesville; Richard Raisbeck, Jr. of Waterloo, and Rebecca Raisbeck of Mukwonago; eight great grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha and Brett of Janesville; Kevin, Kyle and Jacob of Beloit; Wesley and Tyler of Mukwonago.

In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1996 and brother, Fred Marsh, Jr. in 1998.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Bloomington with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Gerald F. Raisbeck

Gerald F. Raisbeck, age 65 of Bloomington, died on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born September 10, 1946 the son of John and Angela (Day) Raisbeck. Jerry attended St. Marys Catholic School and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1946. He was employed as a mason for P.A. McGuire in Highland. Jerry was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed bow hunting, fishing and going for a drive with his dog, Lakota.

Surviving are his son, John (Nanette) Raisbeck; his daughter, Tiffany Raisbeck; a brother, Tom (Barb) Raisbeck; a sister, Chris (Lloyd) Bishell; and his former wife, Rita Raisbeck.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in the Dodge Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington, and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Julia Raisbeck

Julia L. Raisbeck, age 85 of Lancaster, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She was born May 26, 1931 the daughter of Adolph and Olga (Janisch) Juhnke. Julia met the love of her life, Raymond L. Raisbeck, while he was employed at the General Motors Plant in Janesville. They married on July 25, 1948 at Mount Calvary Church in Janesville. In 1949 Raymond and Julia moved to the Beetown area. Together they farmed for 50 years as the third generation of the Raisbeck Family Farm. Julia was a devoted Christian member of the Beetown Gospel Hall. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, and loved keeping up with her family and their activities.

Surviving are her children; Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Blackbourn, Kenneth (Judy) Raisbeck, Susan (Ron) Kirschbaum, Rick (Deb) Raisbeck, and Kathy (Chris Novotny) Raisbeck, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, a brother Duane (Diane) Juhnke, two brother in laws; Norman (Carol) Raisbeck, and Frank Gulcynski, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Raymond, and a sister, Eldora Gulcynski.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Mr. Roy Weber officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Robert C. Raisbeck

Robert "Bob" C. Raisbeck, age 87, of Lancaster passed away into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. Bob was born on April 20, 1924, in Beetown, the son of Wilbert and Lennice (Griswold) Raisbeck. Bob worked at his father's gas station with his brother, Bill and on nearby farms in his youth. He attended Bloomington High School. At age 17, he enlisted into the United States Army and served his country in an anti-aircraft battery unit in the South Pacific. He was an avid sports fan and he even tried out for the position of catcher with the Chicago Cubs. His baseball career was not to be. At a Rockville dance he met the love of his life, Shirley Mae Vesperman. They were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, August 1, 1947, where they remained members and Bob served as an elder. The newlyweds lived in Madison for a short time while Bob attended a cheese maker short course at the University of Wisconsin. Bob then worked as a cheese maker in Cassville before moving to Lancaster to start his farming career, naming their business, "Hi-View Farm." He also sold seed corn with his neighbor, and lifelong friend, Donald "Mac" McKelvey. One of Bob's passions in life was Shorthorn cattle. They purchased their first Shorthorn cow, Lady Augusta and her calf in 1952 in Sibley, IA. She was soon joined by the new herd bull, Wernacres Chief Adonis. In 1959, Bob showed his own bull at the WI Beef Futurity Show and was awarded reserve champion bull. After that, it was in his blood and there was no stopping him. Bob also showed other award winning Shorthorn cattle at various sales and shows. In 1977, he was named Builder of the Breed by the National Shorthorn Association. Bob was a member of the WI Shorthorn Association and served as state director and vice president. He also served as the WI state delegate to the national meeting. Bob additionally served as an officer of other agricultural commodity organizations. In 1998, at the WI State Fair, The Raisbeck Family was honored at the P.A.C.E. Show for their dedication to the Shorthorn breed. One of his last herd bulls, CF Ringo, went on to be a national Shorthorn champion bull. Bob was also a 4-H leader and all of his children and several grandchildren showed shorthorn cattle at the fairs. This tradition will be continued this year witha fourth generation, Robbie Knorr. Bob was a great storyteller, had a great memory for detail, and a good sense of humor.

Survivors include his children: Douglas (Bev) Raisbeck, Lancaster; Diane(Patrick) Kallas, Hartland; Phillip (Rita),Lancaster; Suzette (John) Katchko, Rhinelander; Michael Raisbeck, Beetown; ten grandchildren: Shelly (Scott) Knorr, Nicole Raisbeck, Kimberly (Ben) Searls, Jessica Kallas, Jarett Kallas, Bridget (Kyle) Krueger, Thomas Raisbeck, Karina Katchko, Daria Katchko and Kristina Larson; one step-great-grandchild, Abbi (Brock) Linde; five great-grandchildren: Robbie Knorr, Andy Knorr, Makena Vesperman, Ava Vesperman, Brynlee Mae Krueger; a brother, William (Emma Jean) Raisbeck, Cobb; a sister-in-law, Margaret Vesperman, Lancaster; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley, and a brother-in-law, Donald Vesperman

Shirley M. Raisbeck

Shirley Mae Raisbeck, age 82, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Morningside Assisted Living, Lancaster. She was born on January 3, 1928, in South Lancaster Township, the daughter of Earl and Alda Vesperman. Shirley graduated from Lancaster High School in 1945. She furthered her education at the University of Dubuque, graduating with a degree in teaching. On August 1, 1947, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Raisbeck at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Lancaster for many years. Shirley was always active in her community and church and was very strong in her faith. She taught music and piano in her home for many years and was active with the Historical Society and the community library. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church and was very active with the church choir as a director and organist and taught Sunday school. Shirley also was a 4-H leader, music director and hosted two AFS exchange students. She was a member of the Shorthorn Beef Cattle Women's Lassie Auxiliary and was instrumental in the Wisconsin Beef Cook-off. Shirley was named the Wisconsin Farm Wife of the Year for all her efforts. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, playing the piano and the organ, traveling and square dancing. A central focus of Shirley's life was caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Raisbeck, Lancaster; her children: Douglas (Bev) Raisbeck, Lancaster; Diane (Patrick) Kallas, Hartland; Phillip (Rita) Raisbeck, Lancaster; Suzette (John) Katchko, Rhinelander; Michael Raisbeck, Lancaster; ten grandchildren: Shelly (Scott) Knorr, Nicole (Chad) Vesperman; Kimberly (Ben) Searls, Jessica Kallas, Jarett Kallas, Bridget (Kyle) Krueger, Thomas Raisbeck, Karina Katchko, Daria Katchko, and Kristina Larson; one step-great-grandchild, Abbi (fiance Brock Linde) Knorr; four great-grandchildren: Robbie Knorr, Andy Knorr, Makena Vesperman, and Ava Vesperman; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Vesperman.

Homer D. Ralph

Homer D. Ralph, age 91, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at his home. He was born February 19, 1923, in Neillsville, the son of Homer and Alberta (Harris) Ralph, Sr. He was raised in Platteville and proudly served his country in World War II and Korea as a USMC Fighter Pilot. Homer married Nancy Smith on February 7, 1948. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Mines in Platteville and began his career in Abstracts and Surveying with the Grant County Abstract Company until his retirement. Homer was very involved in community and church affairs.

Survivors include three sons: Sheldon James (Linda); Richard (Wendy); and John; one daughter, Mary (Tim) Chaffin; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Joe and Ted (Margaret) Ralph.

In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy on May 23, 1996; one brother, David; a daughter-in-law, Jenny in 2011.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 12:00 noon at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Private burial with military honors by the Marine Corps League was held in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. A Homer D. Ralph Memorial Fund has been established. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving the family.

Roger Ralston

Roger D. Ralston, age 71, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on November 23, 1943, the son of Wayne and Carol (Kleinfelter) Ralston, in Waterloo, IA. He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1962. Roger furthered his education at Morningside College and Iowa State University. He lived in Indianola, IA and Lancaster the majority of his life. Roger is a retired farmer and fertilizer salesman. He had a deep love for animals of all kinds, especially Angus cattle, dogs and cats. Roger was an active participant and sponsor in AA, having just celebrated 32 years with the friends of Bill W. and Dr. Bob. He was an active member in Calvary Community Church and had a strong friendship with many at the church. Roger participated in many local organizations and groups including: antique tractor rides, Grant County Cattleman's Association, Lancaster F.F.A., and supported many athletic events at the Lancaster High School. He enjoyed his time spent in the fall at Vesperman Farms giving rides in the pumpkin patch.

Survivors include his son, Michael Wayne (Chris) Ralston, Chaska, MN; grandchildren: Kasey and Shelby; a sister, Marcyne Heitman, Pensacola, FL; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Ralston and Michael's mother, Judy.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church in Lancaster with Pastor David Arevalo officiating. Burial was on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Alice Church Cemetery, Conrad, IA. Family and friends called on Thursday, February 26, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Friends also called on Friday one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial has been established to create a scholarship in Roger's name.

The family wishes to express a deep level of gratitude and appreciation towards Orchard Manor staff and to his close AA friends, neighbors, and special friend, Kathy.

Walter G. Ready

Walter G. Ready, age 86, of Bagley, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at home. He was born on March 19, 1927, in Bagley, the son of Casper and Clara (Knutson) Ready. Walter graduated from Bagley High School on May 11, 1944. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country for two years of which thirteen months were stationed in Kochi, Japan as part of the Occupational Forces. After his honorable discharge, Walter became a charter member of the Bagley Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482. He was employed on the railroad delivering mail to Wyalusing. On February 16, 1951, Walter was united in marriage to Sylvia Ritchey Nivarel. In May of 1952, he was employed as Postmaster until his retirement on March 19, 1982. Walter enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, and hunting. He was a charter member of the Bagley Volunteer Fire Department for fifty-five years.

Walter E. Ready, Jr.

Walter Edward Ready, Jr., stillborn son of Walter Edward, Sr. and Jessica Ready. He was born at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, WI.

He is survived by his loving parents; maternal grandparents: Edward and Rose Mary Gobin; his uncles: Jason, James Richard, Jacob, Jeremy, and Jonathon Gobin; maternal great-grandparents: James and Arleen Gobin and Helen Thaden; several great-aunts, uncles and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Walter Eugene and Linda Joyce Ready; paternal great-grandparents: Walter Gene and Sylvia Ready; Edward and Barbara Feran; maternal great-grandfather: Richard James Feather; maternal step-great-grandfather, Allen Thaden; an uncle, Jeffery Gobin; several cousins and other relatives.

Harold W. Rech

Harold W. Rech, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Monday, June 23, 2008, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. He was born on May 2, 1917, in Lancaster, WI, the son of William and Barbara (Caspers) Rech. In 1940, he married Charlotte Duve. Together they farmed in Grant and Iowa Counties. Charlotte preceded him in death in 1966. In 1973, he married Alice Burns. Harold and Alice moved to Lancaster in 1975. He was employed at the Grant County Courthouse. Alice preceded him in death in 1997. Harold was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards with his friends at Zippy's.

He is survived by two daughters: Judith (James) Richardson, Fennimore; and Patricia (Lee) Halverson, Cottage Grove; a stepdaughter, Margaret (Melvin) Kaufman, Lancaster; a sister, Helen Jenkinson, Cameron; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Louise Rech; his brother, Donald (Marian) Rech, and his brother-in-law, Robert Jenkinson.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Thursday. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Harold W. Rech memorial fund has been established.

Lela R. Rech

Lela R. Rech, age 99, of Lancaster, died on Monday, November 21, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on August 21, 1912, in Beetown Township, the oldest child of four born to Harvey and Nettie (Kitelinger) Bass. Lela attended Badger and Five Points country school. On December 25, 1930, she was united in marriage to Henry E. Rech in Beetown Township. After their marriage, the couple farmed dairy, beef and hogs. Lela enjoyed gardening and cooking. She participated in 4-H and was a superintendent for cooking and canning classes for several years. Lela also was employed at Ramshaw's Greenhouse. She was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America, serving as their secretary until the age of 98, and the Rebecca Lodge. Lela enjoyed crocheting, quilting and traveling. She has been to all fifty states and several countries. Lela collected recipes and enjoyed puzzles. Most of all, she loved to cook, bake and spend time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Roger Rech, Lancaster; four daughters: Dorothy Eck, Linda (Arvin Weber) Barr, Marcia (Dan) Mitchell, all of Lancaster; Sharon (Steve) Klein, Cassville; son-in-law, Harold Sweeney, Lancaster; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Gates, Lancaster; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; children: Charles Rech, Shirley Sweeney, and Stephen Rech; grandchildren: Dana Rech, Lori Sweeney, and Eric Barr; daughters-in-law: Iris Rech, Shirley Rech, Marilyn Rech, and Susan Rech; sons-in-law: Stanley Eck and William Barr; two brothers: Walter (Etha) Bass and Louis (Mildred) Bass; a brother-in-law, John Gates; and sisters-in-law: Leola (John) Krohn and Florence(Walter) Gratz.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Shirley A. Rech

Shirley A. Rech, age 72, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on November 24, 1937, in Cassville Township, the daughter of Richard and Sylvia (Reed) Richards. Shirley graduated from Potosi High School in 1953. On June 15, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Charles L. Rech at the United Methodist Church Parsonage in Lancaster. She was employed with Dairy Herd Improvement Association in Fennimore. Shirley enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to the boat. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons: Randy Rech, Lancaster; Robert Rech, Elgin, IL; a sister, Nancy (Ken) Jacobson, Potosi; three nephews: Duane Jacobson, Brian Jacobson, and Mike (Courtney) Richards; one niece, Gina (Tom) Vondrum; and her very special grandchildren: Kari and Grant Vance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, LeRoy (Elaine) Richards.

Stephen A. "Steve" Rech

Stephen A. "Steve" Rech, age 54, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008, in Barneveld of an apparent heart attack. He was born on February 1, 1954, the son of Henry and Lela (Bass) Rech. Steve graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972 and attended Southwest Technical College for two years. On May 27, 1978, he married Susan Noble at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Steve drove semi-truck for most of his adult life, most recently for Wal-Mart Transportation for the past three years. He enjoyed his work, especially touring the country.

Steve liked to be in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and riding horses. He also enjoyed the Landon family get-togethers. Steve especially appreciated and cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his three children, Erin (Jason) Wehrle, Fennimore; Patrick Rech (Miranda Tracy), Lancaster; Stephen "Todd" Rech (Katie Withrow), Lancaster; three grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Wehrle, and Bonnie Rech; his mother, Lela Rech, Lancaster; five sisters and one brother: Shirley (Harold) Sweeney, Lancaster; Dorothy Eck, Lancaster; Roger Rech, Lancaster; Linda Barr (Arvin Weber), Lancaster; Marcia (Daniel) Mitchell, Lancaster and Sharon (Steve) Klein, Cassville; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Rech, Lancaster; Sharon Hensal, Lena, IL; Diane (Tim) Twining, Isanti, MN; Vicki (Craig) Humphries, Lancaster; two brothers-in-law, Steven (Kathy) Noble, Oakland, IA; Jeff Bendorf, Stitzer his father-in-law Calvin Bendorf, Stitzer; a friend, Connie and her family; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Caitlin Elizabeth Recker

Caitlin Elizabeth Recker, age 5, of Lancaster, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster after a courageous battle with cancer . She was born July 12, 2002 in Lancaster, WI; the daughter of Benjamin and Sara (Mumm) Recker. Caitlin was a kindergartener at St. Clement Catholic School in Lancaster. Her loving way was very contagious to all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Ben and Sara Recker, Lancaster; her brother, Joey and sister, Carolyn, both at home; grandparents, Bob and Kitty Mumm, Lancaster; Ed and Carol Recker, Lancaster; great-grandparents, Germaine Mumm, Lancaster; Francis Richgels, Lancaster; Victor Recker, Bloomington; Shirley Bausch, Mount Hope; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Vincent Mumm, Catherine Richgels, Alice Recker, and Fred Sonny Bausch; and her great-aunt, Mary Frances (Richgels) Turner.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Victor H. Recker

Victor H. Recker, age 88, of Bloomington died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born December 16, 1919, in Bloomington, WI, the son of Andrew and Josephine (Oval) Recker. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Bloomington and then farmed in the Bloomington area. On February 14, 1950, he married Alice Ann Blum at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. She preceded him in death on December 30, 1999. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington, an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4416 of Bloomington, and a member of the NFO. Victor enjoyed farming, playing cards, and traveling and he dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by 10 children: Mary (Richard) Loftus, Columbia, MO; Ruth (Dale) Cary, Glenbeulah; Andrew (Mary) Recker, Soldiers Grove; Edward (Carol) Recker, Lancaster; Beverly (James) Callahan, Prairie du Chien; Irene (Lawrence) Callahan, Belgium; Anthony (Robbie) Recker, McFarland; Louise (Robert) Wiederholt, Phillips, NE; Louis Recker, Bloomington; and Joseph (Alana) Recker, Bloomington; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; his brother, Alfred Fritz Recker, Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his parents; his two grandchildren: Jason Callahan and Dawn Recker; a great-granddaughter, Caitlin Recker; and four sisters: Philomine Steinl, Julia Gruender, Ludwina Mergen, and Delores Klinkhammer.

George W. Redman

George W. Redman, age 62, of Bloomington, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his home in Bloomington. He was born on March 25, 1951, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Mainard and Ruth (Hudson) Redman. George graduated from Bloomington High School in 1969. He was employed with the Village of Bloomington for several years. George was a member of the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department for thirty years.

Survivors include many cousins and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by an uncle, William Hudson.

Jerry E. Redman

Jerry E. Redman, age 75, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 21, 1937, on Hicklin Hollow at home. Jerry graduated from Patch Grove High School in 1955. On June 17, 1961, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Linder at St. Gabriel's Church in Prairie du Chien. Jerry started work at John Deere Dubuque Works on February 8, 1965, in the Foundry and eventually worked his way up to work in the maintenance department. He loved playing cards with his co-workers on break. Jerry worked there for thirty-six years retiring on September 30, 2001. He was a member of the Prairie du Chien National Guard for three years and was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing, and any sports, especially watching his own children and then his grandchildren. Jerry was robbed of his retired days because Alzheimer's set in shortly after he retired. He did word search books and watched Wheel of Fortune until two weeks before passing away. Jerry was a very loving husband, dad, grandpa and would become a great-grandpa in September.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Dorothy; four children: Cheryl (Bill) Price, Monica (Larry) Witzig, all of Bloomington; Mike (Connie) Redman, Middleton; Jeff (Angie) Redman, Bloomington; nine grandchildren: Ben (Abby) Price, Brad (Shelby Schier) Price, Whitney, Andrew, and Ryan Redman, Miranda and Cody Witzig, all of Bloomington; Tyler and Kelsey Redman, Middleton; two brothers: Phil (Whiz) Redman and Dick (Ruth) Redman; two brothers-in-law: Edward Linder, Dan (Sheila) Linder all of Bridgeport; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Linder and his father and mother-in-law, John and Veronica Linder.

Dennis Reed

Dennis L. Reed, age 68, of Stitzer, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015, at his home. He was born on April 23, 1947, in Lancaster, the son of Leonard and Lois (Fullbright) Reed. He graduated from Cassville High School in 1965. On October 31, 1966, Dennis was united in marriage to Linda L. Reed. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dennis was employed at the Lancaster Post Office for over 38 years and served as the Post Master. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 184 of Fennimore and the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed any kind of hunting and fishing. He was a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan and any sport his grandson played.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Lue Reed; children: Jason Robert Reed, Platteville; Becky (Eric) Kiesau, LaCrescent, MN; Michael (Melissa) Reed, Fennimore; grandchildren: Thomas Kiesau, Kelsey Kiesau, Mariah and Marissa Reed, and Alexandra "Lexi" Kiesau; mother-in-law, Lucille Reed, Lancaster; a brother-in-law, Larry Reed, Lancaster; many cousins and friends.

Harlan E. Reed

Harlan E. Reed, age 82, of Cassville, died on Friday, December 25, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 26, 1927, in Burton, the son of Carson and Marcella (Brinkman) Reed. He attended Dubuque Senior High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany where he met his wife. Harlan was employed with Dubuque Packing Company, retiring in 1981. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 7080. Harlan was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked to watch all sports on the television, especially the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Harlan loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be thoroughly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Reed, Cassville; his sons: Brian Reed, Cassville; Rod (Sharon) Reed, Cassville; his grandchildren: Michael Reed, Platteville; Carrie (Adam) Sutter, Prairie du Chien; his great-grandchildren: Conner and Cayden; an aunt, Eileen Brinkman, Cassville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother, Maurice and a sister-in-law, Charlene Reed.

Nancy C. Reed

Nancy C. (Hammill) Reed, age 64, of Platteville, formerly of Cassville died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Gray's Nursing Home in Platteville after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 17, 1944 the daughter of Robert and Florence (Bausch) Reed in Madison, WI. Nancy married Kenneth "Butch" Hammill on June 10, 1967 and they were later divorced.

Nancy is survived by two children: Brian (Toni) Hammill, AZ and Tonya (Chris) Vosberg, Hazel Green, three very special grandchildren, Samantha Luann Vosberg, Nedallas Kenneth Hammill and Destiny Nashoni Hammill; two sisters, Mary Kay (David) Sauk and Linda Ankomeus, both of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Luann Reed.

Jerome F. Reilly

Jerome "O.J." F. Reilly, age 86, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on March 18, 1923, in Platteville. He was drafted into the United Sates Navy in 1942. Jerome served his country in the Pacific Theatre and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Seaman First Class. On January 28, 1947, Jerome was united in marriage to Mary Jane Fuerstenberg. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1988. Jerome was employed with John Deere for six years and later he was employed with Dubuque Packing Company as a Butcher, retiring after twenty-eight years. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed hunting. Jerome was a lifetime member of the William Pollock VFW Post No. 2344 of Lancaster. He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary, Jerome was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Guerdon (Hellen) Reilly, Delores (John) Finan, Cletus Reilly, Merlin "Johnny" (Margarette) Reilly, Jeanette Healy, and Robert Reilly, and a special friend, Delores Manuel.

Survivors include his children: Richard (Odelia) Reilly, Tracy, CA; John (Annette) Reilly, Edgerton; Catherine (Mark) Schleicher, Glen Haven; his grandchildren: Michael (Kaitlyn) Reilly, Evansville; April Schleicher, Prairie du Chien; Andrew (Kori) Reilly, Edgerton; Jim (Samantha Vogt) Schleicher, Prairie du Chien; Brandon (Erin) Reilly, Marshall; Steven Reilly, Edgerton; four great-grandchildren: Angela, Katie, Emily and Jayden; and his special friends, Dennis Kotte and Nora Bevins.

William Reinecke

The family of William L. "Bill" Reinecke, age 86 of Lancaster, regretfully announce his death on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, grateful that he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at Manor Care in Platteville. He was born October 31, 1930, the son of David and Laura (Turner) Reinecke. He was a man of his generation, growing up during the Great Depression. Bill graduated from Potosi High School, and furthered his education at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a degree in Economics. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return stateside, Bill then attended University of Wisconsin Madison, where he received his Law Degree. In April of 1967, he realized one of his life's dreams when he was sworn in as Judge of Grant County, a role that defined him for the rest of his life. He was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife Eleanor S. "Ele" Cook on July 10, 1982. He was a member of the Potosi Fire Department and Potosi State Bank Board of Directors. He enjoyed time spent golfing, fishing, hunting, boating, and playing a good game of euchre. He is best known by his family for his caring love of them.

He leaves a large and loving family who will miss his presence in their lives including his loving wife, Eleanor; his children Beth (Mitch) Hochhausen, David (Kim), Mark (Tammy), Mike (Laura) Reinecke, Faye (Dan) Patzner, Tim (Rhonda) and Tom (Angie) Reinecke; his stepchildren, Dawn Lomas, Fred (Heidi), and Todd (Kim) Yocum; 30 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Langkamp, and a brother-in-law, Mert Kaiser.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Paul; sister Jane Kaiser; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Langkamp.

William D. Reisen

William D. "Bill" Reisen, age 52, of Potosi died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at his home with his sister, Deborah, his friend, Sharon Blindert and his cousins, Pauline Johnson and Paula Richardson by his side. He was born on May 30, 1956, the son of Keith Reisen and Mary Jane (Bisbach) Reese in Lancaster, WI. Bill attended school in Potosi and enlisted in the U. S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. After he was discharged, Bill lived in Florida, Michigan and New York among other places before returning to Potosi to reside at the home of his mother, Mary Jane Reese. Most recently, Bill was employed the last four years at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to pick morel mushrooms and berries. Bill loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed camping on his sister Deborah's land. He also loved spending time with his friends, especially at Ivan's Cabin. He was a member of the Friends of the White River Association in Neshkoro, WI.

Bill is survived by two children: Brandon (Jackie) Reisen, Bloomington and Kimberly Reisen (Allen Baeumel), McCaysville, GA and their mother, Dawn (Smiley) Burleson, Mineral Bluff, GA; his father, Keith Reisen, Gainesville, FL; two brothers and two sisters: Mary Kay Hoag, Orlando, FL, James Reisen (Tina Brooke), Hawaii, Deborah (Marlin) Teske, Neshkoro, WI and David Reisen (Linda Mills), Ft. Lauderdale, FL; aunts and uncles: Carol (Raymond) Wunderlin, Platteville, Henry Bisbach, Avoca, WI, and Wendall Bisbach, Potosi, Anna Mae Cunzenheim, Platteville, Clarence Reisen, Dubuque, IA, Charles (Linda) Reisen, Dubuque, IA, Marguette Utiger, Omaha, NE and Carol (Roger) Wellensick, Dunbar, NE; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Reese; an infant brother, Michael and his grandparents, Francis and Dorothy (Louthain) Bisbach.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi with Teri A. Hanson officiating. Burial with Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post #473 and the Berg Averkamp VFW Post #5276, both of Potosi, was held in Hurricane Cemetery, Town of South Lancaster. Family and friends were welcome on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Luncheon was held at the Potosi Inn following the burial.

Jeanette Reiser

Jeanette M. Reiser, age 92, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Lancaster. Jeanette was born December 15, 1922, the daughter of Matt and Anna (Hochhausen) Rauch in Glen Haven. She attended St. Mary's School in Glen Haven. On November 18, 1941, she married Norbert Reiser. Together they farmed until 1984 when they moved to Bloomington. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1998. Jeanette was a devoted member of Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington and its Altar Society, St. Jane Francis Study Club and Catholic Daughters. Jeanette enjoyed spending many hours quilting, playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packer and University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters: Virginia Errthum, Boscobel; Rose (Ted) Amman, Cross Plains; her son: Jim Reiser (Lyle Austin), Clay City, KY; 10 grandchildren: Larry (Susan Prosser), Alan, Eric (Janel), Art (Tamra), Mike (Jackie) and Sara Errthum; Matt (Adrienne), Mike (Amy), John (Megan) Amman and Teresa (Jay) Reilly; 12 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Gerald and Ed (Kay) Rauch; sisters-in-law: Virginia, Helen, Arlene and Margaret Rauch; many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Menne and brothers: Vincent, James, Francis, Richard, Edmund and Joseph Rauch.

Services were heldon Monday, December 7, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington. Benjamin Retallick

Benjamin E. "Ben" Retallick, age 56, of Glen Haven, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born March 19, 1958 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Earl "Buck" and Neoma (Turner) Retallick. Ben graduated from Cassville High School in 1976, and farmed the Retallick Family Farm in North Andover. He also drove school and charter bus for Warco Transportation in Bloomington Wi., and was employed at Swiss Colony in Dickeyville, WI, for over twenty years. Ben enjoyed NASCAR racing, Green Bay Packer games, and travelling.

Survivors include his sisters; Sheryln (Bill) Kleinow, Cindy (Jeff) Hesseling, his special friend Sue Granberg, his brother in law, Mark Adrian, Sr., several nieces, nephews, and his beloved cats; Cecil and Zelda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Brenda Adrian, two brothers, Eugene "Sonny" Nickel and Brian Retallick.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville, with Pastor Jim McMahon officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Ila J. Retallick

Ila J. Retallick, age 83, of Beetown, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on May 26, 1927, the daughter of Arnold and Lela (Myers) Traupe. Ila graduated from Cassville High School in 1945. She married Francis L. Retallick on June 22, 1950, at the Beetown United Methodist Church. They were blessed with three children: Steven, Kevin and Pamela. Together they farmed on the family farm in Glen Haven Township until their retirement in 1983, when they moved to Beetown. Ila continued to work in the dietary department at Orchard Manor Nursing Home for several years. Ila was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to all. She was an excellent cook, candy maker, baker, and always had cookies on hand for anyone that may stop in. Ila also loved to play cards for quarters.

Survivors include her three children: Steven Retallick, Cassville; Kevin (Keri) Retallick, Glen Haven; Pamela Hobson, Richland Center; ten grandchildren: Michael (Dawn) Retallick, Steven Retallick, Renee (Chad) Wehrle, Sarah (Kevin) McCartney, and Ben (Sadie) Retallick; Keela, Kelsi, and Kelli Retallick; Annie (Brad) Lisowski and Aaron Hobson; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Una Faye Gotzinger, Potosi; sister-in-law, Clara Traupe, KY; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Francis, her brother, Norman "Dale" Traupe and a brother-in-law, David Gotzinger.

Amanda H. Reuter

Amanda H. Reuter, age 83, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 17, 1930, in Cuba City, the daughter of Thomas and Eunice (Kittoe) Holt. Amanda attended school at Cuba City and Spring Green. On August 18, 1965, she was united in marriage to Joseph Reuter at Galena, IL. After their marriage, the couple farmed. In 1971, Joe and Amanda owned and operated Reuter's Bar until 1985. In 1987, Amanda began a day care business out of her home until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Amanda enjoyed cooking, spoiling her children and grandchildren, and loved to participate in the family hunting and fishing trips. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph "Joe" Reuter; children: Bev (Francis) Marcue; Tom (Jeanine) Robbins; Eveon Kirshbaum; Dale (Bonnie) Dailey; Sandy (Michael) Hubanks; Renee (Rick) Gardner; Rhonda (Tim) Reinecke; Joey (Sue) Reuter; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Mae Lape; other relatives and many friends.

Carl Reuter

Carl J. Reuter, age 93, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. He was born on October 23, 1920, the son of William and Josephine (Stelpflug) Reuter. Carl grew up on a farm near Tennyson in Paris Township. He attended St. Andrew Catholic School. Later, he and his parents moved to Bloomington. On June 30, 1956, Carl was united in marriage to Helene Baker at Cherry Mound which is in rural Harpers Ferry. Carl worked as a farmer most of his life in Bloomington Township, but also worked at Effigy Mounds in 1957. When he and Helene retired from farming, they moved into the Village of Bloomington and built a house across from St. Marys Catholic Church and School. In his younger years, Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. In his later years, he enjoyed watching baseball and although he wouldnt admit it, he was a Cubs fan. Carl also loved the animals he raised, especially the cows.

Survivors include his loving wife, Helene Reuter, Bloomington; their children: JoEllen Reuter, Dubuque, IA; Ed (Lucy) Reuter, Lake Stevens, WA, and their children, Tom and Lynn; Jane Reuter of Littleton, CO, and her son, Robby; Nancy (Jon) Brost, Nekoosa, and their children, Aaron and Lexi; sisters-in-law, Darlene Reuter, Bagley; Marie Dorsch, Chicago, IL; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Cletus and Reaferd Reuter and his sister, Catherine Zenz.

Cletus B. Reuter

Cletus B. Reuter, 79, of Bagley, WI, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on June 6, 1932, in Potosi, a son of William and Josephine (Stelphflug) Reuter.

Cletus moved the Bloomington area when he was five years old. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion.

Cletus married Darlene Zenz in 1957.

He owned his own trucking business and farmed until his retirement.

Cletus is survived by his wife, Darlene; four sons, Jeff (Kris) and Joe (Gerri), both of Lancaster, Jim (Diane) and Jack (Patience), both of Denver, CO; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

A memorial mass was held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Father John Meinholtz officiating. Burial with Military Honors was in Bloomington Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, June 20, at St. Mary's, with a prayer service at 7 pm, and one hour prior to the mass at church on Tuesday. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is serving his family.

Elaine Anna Reuter

Elaine Anna Reuter, age 85, of Lancaster, died suddenly on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on February 6, 1923, in Potosi, the daughter of Roy and Esther (Koeller) McKelvey. On May 10, 1948, Elaine married Irvin Reuter at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tennyson. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bailey Oil Company in Lancaster before marrying and raising her family. She also did assessing bookwork for S. Lancaster Township for twenty-eight years. Irvin and Elaine lived most of their married life on the Becher farm south of Lancaster until two years ago, when they moved into Lancaster. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and playing games on her computer. Most of all, she loved the visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Irvin B. Reuter

Irvin Bernard Reuter, age 91, of Lancaster, passed away onSunday, December 14, 2014,at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster.

He was born on February 2, 1923, in Potosi, the son of George and Elizabeth (Glassmaker) Reuter. On May 10, 1948, Irvin married Elaine McKelvey at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tennyson.

He and Elaine lived most of their married life on the Becher farm south of Lancaster until 2006 when they moved to Lancaster. He was also the South Lancaster Assessor for 28 years. After retiring from farming he worked at Mega Foods and the Wonder Wash car wash in Lancaster. Irvin was a member of Branch 42 of the Catholic Knights for 83 years and received his Gold Rosary. After Elaine passed away in 2008, Irvin lived at Morningside Assisted Living Center in Lancaster and has resided for the past 5 years at Orchard Manor. Irvin enjoyed gardening, reading Western stories, doing word searches, and listening to the Cubs and the Packers.Most of all he enjoyed his visits from his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Bonnie K. Reynolds

Bonnie K. Reynolds, age 66, of Lancaster, died Monday, May 30, 2011, at ManorCare in Platteville. Bonnie was born in Richland Center, WI on October 16, 1944, a daughter of Arthur & Opal (Buroker) Gander. She graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1962. Bonnie married Roger J. Reynolds on June 29, 1963, in Lancaster. She worked for LCC for over 30 years. Bonnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and was a good cook.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roger; sons, Tony (Sue) and Andy (Jody); five grandchildren, Rita, Kelly, Dustin, Jenna, and Lane; sisters, Jean (Galen) Kuster and Susan (Jim) Milender; other nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Schwartz Funeral Home, 142 W. Oak St, Lancaster, with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation was from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, June 5, at Schwartz Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Monday.

Donald Reynolds

Donald R. Reynolds, age 81, of Potosi, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Don was born on January 16, 1935 in Potosi, the son of Raymond & Marie (Wiedman) Reynolds.

Don married Charlotte Oellrich on July 13, 1953. He worked at Dubuque Pack for 26 years, and farmed for over 50 years. Don enjoyed playing cards and watching NASCAR, especially Mark Martin, or anyone who drove a Ford. He was always sure to attend every great-grandchild's birthday celebration. He will be most remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Debbie (Denny) Keleher, East Dubuque, IL; a son, Dennis Reynolds, Kansas City, MO; a granddaughter, Angela (Mike) Pickel, Kieler, WI; a granddaughter-in-law, Tricia Keleher, Hazel Green, WI; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Larry) Flesch, Oregon, IL; a brother, Richard (Joyce) Reynolds, Paw Paw, IL; and his special friend, Lucille Kaiser, Dickeyville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte in 1985; his parents; and grandson, Eric Keleher.

Public Visitation was from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home, 144 N. Main St, Potosi. Private family funeral services were held. Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Hobart L. Reynolds

Hobart LaVerne Reynolds, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born in Beetown, the son of Archie and Vera (Elwell) Reynolds. Hobart attended country school at Five Points and Beetown School. He was employed with Al Klaas Construction and Eastman Cartwright. On May 3, 1950, Hobart was united in marriage to Ramona Miles at the Lancaster United Methodist Church Parsonage. In 1958, he and his uncle Norman Elwell began the business Elwell and Reynolds Building Service. Elwell and Reynolds Building Service constructed many local churches, homes and businesses, including Highland Estates. In 1984, Hobart retired from Elwell and Reynolds Building Service. He was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department, Southwest Wisconsin Antique Car Club, and Grant Antique Club. Hobart had a passion for antique cars. He built a 1929 Chevrolet from scratch along with restoring many other cars. Hobart also enjoyed musical instruments, especially the guitar, and woodworking. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed the family camping trips and family travels.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Ramona, Lancaster; their children: Brenda (Tim Seabrooke) Miehe, Elgin, IA; James (Sheila) Reynolds, Lancaster; four grandchildren: Davis (Whitney Johnson) Miehe, Trevor Miehe, Amanda (Joe Bailie) Reynolds, and Tiffany (Jakob Regal) Reynolds; three great-grandchildren: Abrianna Miehe, Blake Bailie, and Konner Bailie; his sister, Lillian Bid (Dennis) Duncan, Beetown; and a sister-in-law, Connie Reynolds, Lancaster.

In addition to his parents, Hobart was preceded in death by his siblings: Wilma Hutchcroft Sisley, Marshall (Jeannine) Reynolds, and Delano Reynolds; his brother-in-law: Ervin Hutchcroft; a sister-in-law, Donna (Earl) Bradley; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Bailie.

Jeannine D. Reynolds, age 75, of Lancaster , passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 , at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster . She was born on June 21, 1937 , in Platteville, the daughter of William and Maxine (Reed) Potter. On September 25, 1954 , Jeannine was united in marriage to Marshall O. Reynolds, Sr. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church .

In 1984, Jeannine and Marshall opened Reynolds Electric, which is still operated by their family. She was a member of the Beetown and Lancaster United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of Beetown. Jeannine enjoyed Bible study, traveling, reading, crocheting, and watching movies. She was very devoted to her family and crocheted many blankets for them.

Survivors include her children: Marsha Reynolds; Kathy (Bill) Breuer; Bill (Denise Johanning) Reynolds; Jay (Joanne) Reynolds; Steve Reynolds; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Sharon (Duke) Geng; Karen (Robert) Shawley; brothers: Mike (Terri); Tim (Lori); Dan (Mary); David (Bertha) Irish; and a brother-in-law, Earl Thomas.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Marshall, Jeannine was preceded in death by her step-father, Glen Irish; a grandson, Caleb Breuer; her sisters: Judy Thomas and Kay (Robert) Godlewski.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 , at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery , Lancaster . Family and friends called on Friday, December 14, 2012 , from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Lawrence "Jack" J. Reynolds

Lawrence "Jack" Larry J. Reynolds, age 72, of Potosi, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at his home in Potosi. He was born on May 28, 1938, in Potosi, the son of Lawrence Peter and Lucille M. (Hauk) Reynolds. Jack graduated from Cassville High School. On February 7, 1959, he was united in marriage to Linda Ann McCann at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Potosi. Jack was employed with the Dubuque Packing Company for many years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Jack enjoyed playing cards and was always in search of the perfect cribbage hand. He also liked fishing, playing the guitar, woodworking, hunting from his car and "saling" (a.k.a. going to garage sales).

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a grandson, Jermey Reynolds; a nephew, Terry Reynolds; and his brother, Bob Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Reynolds, Potosi; his children: Tim Reynolds, Potosi; Kim (Tim) Glassmaker, Bloomington; Pete (Dawn) Reynolds and Kurt (Connie) Reynolds all of Potosi; Pat (Lisa) Reynolds, Cassville; Dr. Mary Reynolds and Chrissy Swartout, Portland, OR; Peggy (Brett) Stoffel, Dubuque, IA; LuAnne (Ken) Johll, and Todd (Jessica) Reynolds, all of Cassville; Sean (Jennifer) Reynolds, Phoenix, AZ; 28 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brothers and sister: Bill (Virginia) Reynolds, Dubuque, IA; Jim (Sharon) Reynolds, Cassville; Joe (Melanie) Reynolds, Potosi; Jerry (Theresa) Reynolds, Cassville; Helen (Ron) Udelhofen, and Ronnie (Patti) Reynolds, all of Potosi; a sister-in-law, June (Don) Grass, Potosi; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery, Potosi. Family and friends called on Friday, October 15, 2010, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., where a 3:30 p.m. Divine Mercy Chaplet will be held. Family and friends also called on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisting the family.

Marshall O. Reynolds, Sr.

Marshall O. Reynolds, Sr., age 77, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on September 19, 1933, in Beetown Township, the son of Archie and Vera (Elwell) Reynolds. Marshall graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951. On September 25, 1954, Marshall was united in marriage to Jeannine D. Potter at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. He started working for Elwell and Reynolds in Lancaster in 1958 and in 1984, he opened Reynolds Electric. Marshall loved Ford cars, hunting, and life on the farm. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Jeannine Reynolds, Lancaster; his children: Marsha Reynolds, Beetown; Kathy (Bill) Breuer, Cassville; Bill (Denise Johanning) Reynolds, Lancaster; Jay (Joanne) Reynolds, Stitzer; Steve (Amy Leffler) Reynolds, Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Hobart (Ramona) Reynolds, Lancaster; his sister, Lillian "Bid" (Dennis) Duncan, Beetown; sister-in-law, Connie Reynolds, Lancaster; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Breuer; a brother, Delano Reynolds; a sister, Wilma Sisley; two brothers-in-law, Ervin Hutchroft and Robert Sisley.

Roger Reynolds

Roger J. Reynolds, age 73, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Lancaster. He was born on July 22, 1942, in the Werley area of Mt. Ida Township, the son of Edward and Blanche (Keene) Reynolds. Roger graduated from Lancaster High School. On June 29, 1963, he married Bonnie J. Gander in Lancaster. Roger was employed at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works for thirty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and keeping up with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons: Tony (Sue) and Andy (Jody); five grandchildren, Rita, Kelly, Dustin, Jenna, and Lane; sisters-in-law: Jean Reynolds; Jean (Galen) Kuster and Susan (Jim) Milender; a brother-in-law, James Pennekamp; other nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Bonnie, Roger was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Reynolds and a sister, Joanne Pennekamp.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
